After years of research and development the Yoga Health Institute, which owns and operates Solutions to Stress, shares with you an innovative free stress test to help you discover what triggers your stress and how it is showing up in your life.

Modesto, CA, (PRWEB via PR Web Direct) September 27, 2005 — The Yoga Health Institute, a prestigious stress management clinic in Central California, which owns Solutions to Stress (http://www.solutionstostress.com), launches an entirely new innovative online free stress test that will give immediate scores. What makes this stress test unique are two things: One, it pinpoints your source(s) of stress and two, it offers you a proven solution that has been researched and documented in over 2,000 scientific journals worldwide.

“Because awareness is the first step in taking better care of yourself, take this quick free stress test at http://www.solutionstostress.com and see how you’re doing. It will take a few minutes and it comes complete with your results along with a recommendation for living a healthier life,” says Richard Parenti, Creator of Solutions to Stress and President of the Yoga Health Institute.

According to the Journal American Medical Association 80% of all illnesses are from stress. From chemicals in our water supply to the level of toxins in the air and in our food, rage on our highways, disgust in our jobs and frustration in our home, we encounter multiple kinds of stress throughout each day. Stress will make you sick. That’s a medical fact. “Stress is like running your car engine without oil while driving cross-country or leaving the meat loaf in the oven at 400 degrees while you go out and play a round of golf. Sooner or later, something will break, or melt down. What breaks or melts down depends on where the weak links are in your physical, mental, emotional or psychic makeup,” says Richard Parenti.

The Yoga Health Institute is committed to providing clients with the latest breakthroughs in stress management and offering this free stress test at http://www.solutionstostess.com is one of our ways of accomplishing that goal. By showing users how stress is showing up in their life the free stress test enables them to focus their energies correctly in targeted areas so that they can take specific action to remove the triggers that are causing them stress.

Anusaragate

2012 is only a month old and already there's been more drama in the yoga world than we usually see all year. First, there was that yoga injuries article in The New York Times, which prompted responses from many of yoga's leading teachers and much discussion both inside and outside of the yoga community. Now, another story seems poised to make waves: the possible fall from grace of Anusara yoga founder John Friend. Last week, blogger YogaDork published information from an anonymous website, alleging personal and professional misconduct by Friend (for all the details, see here). A response of sorts has now been posted on both YogaDork and Elephant Journal, in the form of a letter Friend sent to members of the Anusara community, acknowledging that there is some truth to the accusations. An interview with Friend by Elephant Journal editor Waylon Lewis is expected to be published this afternoon, and hopefully will begin to elucidate the direction Anusara will take in face of this scandal. Stay tuned...

[Update: Here is the interview, in which Friend admits to inappropriate, though consensual, sexual relationships with female students and employees and supplies documents relating to the discontinuation of the Anusara employee pension plan.]

The Book Behind The Article

The New York Times article that created so much buzz a few weeks ago ("How Yoga Can Wreck Your Body") is back in the news, as the book, entitled The Science of Yoga, behind the article has just been published. In addition to my review (which I'm sure you have already read), now you can read The New York Times' own review, listen to author William Broad on NPR's Fresh Air, and/or head to your nearest bookstore and pick up a copy.

Legs Up the Wall - Viparita Karani Is the Yoga Pose of the Week

I've been taking a break from shoulderstand lately due to a stiff neck, but I've been really enjoying substituting legs-up-the-wall pose instead. Try taking a block or bolster under your butt in this pose and playing around with different leg variations, like taking the legs wide, into a baddha konasana position with the soles of the feet touching, or even into lotus if that pose is part of your practice.
