The School of Healing Arts will host its grand re-opening festival to showcase its newly remodeled and expanded wellness facility.

(PRWEB) October 21, 2005 — The School of Healing Arts (SOHA) will host its grand re-opening festival, open to the entire San Diego community free of charge, on Saturday November 19, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. to showcase its newly remodeled and expanded wellness facility at 1001 Garnet Avenue in Pacific Beach.

The school, founded in 1990, provides comprehensive educational programs to students desiring to become practitioners of holistic health and massage therapy. The school also provides professional, affordable therapeutic bodywork to the public in its wellness center. The expansion allows the school to provide classes and health services to a growing number of people in an enhanced environment that is both soothing and inspiring.

“The remodel fulfills our plans to take the school to the next level,” says Seymour Koblin, director of the school. “We’ve accomplished a complete space change, remodeling the entire school under the principles of Feng Shui.”

The new facility has grown from 6,000 square feet and ten treatment rooms to 9,500 square feet and 22 treatment rooms. The school has also increased its professional staff from 60 to 120 massage therapists to take advantage of the enlarged center. Classrooms are now larger as well, providing more space for students to practice hands-on learning.
The $250,000 remodeling includes bamboo flooring, fountains, a new sound system, and enhanced lighting. The center makes use of soft and warm colors, materials and textures throughout to create an environment that provides a tranquil escape from the work-a-day world as well as inspiration on the path to wellness and balance.

“It will be an ideal environment for receiving and learning health therapies,” says Koblin. “Our new atmosphere is nurturing, mellow and soothing.”

The grand re-opening celebration will feature fun activities for the entire family, including live music, a bounce house and magic shows for children, tours of the new facility, complimentary mini-massages, Feng Shui and nutritional consultations, belly dancing performances, refreshments, specials on holiday packages, giveaways and more.
There will also be a food donation opportunity to benefit The Storefront, San Diego’s only emergency shelter for homeless teens. Guests who bring one or more non-perishable food item will be entered in a prize drawing, with a grand prize of a “Year of Massage” — one free massage each month for a year. Other prizes include free one-hour massages and free class hours at the school, including 200, 500 and 1000 hours of holistic health instruction. The event will be held at the School of Healing Arts at 1001 Garnet Avenue, second floor, on the corner of Cass and Garnet.

King Dancer - Natarajasana Is the Yoga Pose of the Week

I learned a cool transition last week: king dancer to sugarcane pose. Basically, you just tip forward in king dancer until your hand reaches the floor, et voila, you're in sugarcane. For extra credit, try coming back up.
